What’s New

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged.  It’s been a busy 2 months.  We started the year off with a warm sunny vacation to Kaua’i Hawaii.  It was a great break from the cold northwest weather.

I had never been to Hawaii and was so excited to finally get there.  Scott had been there several times and lived there for a short time.  He has family on the island so for him it was like going back home.  I was surprised at how clean the roads were and the beaches.  Unlike some of the bigger islands I didn’t notice any homeless people, although I’m sure there are some.  The people there are proud of their home and it shows.

We rented a car and can you believe we put just under 400 miles on it.  For a small island I think its like 45 miles from one side to the other.  It was go, go, go…..but so worth it.  Everyday the weather was different so I got in the habit of keeping jeans and shoes in the car cause you never know when it would rain.  Better to be safe than sorry, right?  Although I live in Washington and know what rain is, I didn’t know how it was on the island.

On our last day there it rained….all day.   But it was warm and the rain, well it was like a mist compared to what we get in the northwest.  It actually was nice because we got to relax before a day of travel back to the mainland.

So I am ready to move and enjoy my life on a tropical island.

What’s your story?  What island have you been to?  Share with us your vacation.
