Wow, can you believe that 2009 is coming to an end already? Lots of changes in 2009.
I think it brought change within ourselves also. Some of the things we were to adjust was our way of spending. Americans tend to be in the “Now” moment. We don’t have the cash that’s ok here’s a credit card. Bad way of keeping charge, no pun intended, of our finances. So with all this stuff that has happened we are cutting up the cards and saving money, what a concept, money in the bank. There are of course a few out there that didn’t get caught up in the “now” moment and have a savings and not worried about their situation. Great for them and you if you are one of them.
The real estate market crashed…no surprise there. I worked in the mortgage business during the boom time and we were all “fat cats” but I could see the writing on the wall. I questioned everything and the answer was ” well if you don’t do the loan someone else will so just get it closed” I couldn’t believe the type of loans getting closed. People didn’t even “truly” qualify but yet they did and I’m sure now lots of those people have lost their home. I think we will not be seeing those days again, thank goodness. The housing market has come back down to reality, or so they say.
What about those bailouts? Now that’s a big joke! What really happened there? Well lets see…the big bosses got million dollar bonuses and the American people got squat. And those companies still ended up claiming bankruptcy. There’s something wrong with that picture.
Then there’s Wall Street….can anyone say “Crazy”???? what in the world were those people thinking? Madoff…he’s just straight up evil! Enough said.
Okay enough of the negative. I’ve been reading that 2010 will be a better year. What do you think? What can we do to make it better?
Everyone have a safe New Years Eve and a healthy & prosperous 2010
